heartquake, March 16 at Paribu Art
On our existence, molded by anxiety…
heartquake is a contemporary dance piece that draws its starting point from the idea of somatic engagement with the geography the body experiences. Choreographed through various "swaying" states—searches, efforts, connections, and failures—the work focuses on the swaying that has become our lifestyle.
In this patch of ground where the benefits of striving, failing to reach a destination, being unproductive without results, exhaustion, and inability to stop have become normalized, perhaps expecting anything is contrary to the nature of this place. Yet, despite every collapse, the one thing that remains is our ceaseless effort.
