Bragolin at Paribu Art on March 12
Bragolin is a music project led by Dutch musician Edwin van der Velde, moving through post-punk and dark wave. Bragolin’s sound offers a dark and intense world where 80s baritone guitars, synthesizers, and drum machines meet 60s and 70s organ tones and 90s shoegaze guitars. The lyrics draw inspiration from post-apocalyptic themes and horror cinema.
Their debut album, *I Saw Nothing Good So I Left*, released in 2018, quickly brought Bragolin to a wide audience. The standout track “Into Those Woods” became a modern dance floor classic in today's dark wave scene with its baritone guitar melody, accumulating over 10 million streams to date. The album was produced by van der Velde and former bandmate Isolde Woudstra, with mixing by René Jongeneelen.
In 2019, Bragolin evolved the project into a more electronic and experimental direction with the release of *Bragolin vs Adam Tristar – Let Out The Noise Inside*. To date, Bragolin has performed at approximately 100 concerts, appearing at major festivals like Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT), Amphi Festival, Cold Hearted, Extramuralhas, and Kalabalık, and also undertook tours in South America.
Since 2020, Bragolin performs as a duo with Edwin Daatselaar on synthesizers, combining a dark atmosphere with powerful rhythms and fluid energy in their live shows. Their new album, *I Don’t Like What It Does To Me*, released at the start of 2026, connected with listeners through a release process sharing songs one by one.
