Ahmet Ali Arslan is one of the names carving out his own quiet space within Istanbul’s alternative music scene.
Often described—quite justifiably by many listeners—as a “21st-century Fikret Kızılok,” his delicate music, distinctive voice, and understated presence have accompanied his audience’s most emotional moments since his first EP “Su Akar Deli Bakar” released in 2015, often joined on stage by musician friends he shares a close artistic bond with. Some even jokingly say you can only fully experience his music by going through a breakup and listening to it in emotional intensity.
Beyond his musicianship, he also stands out as a songwriter. Many describe him as a folk poet keeping poetry alive in a world where it is said to be fading. His music blends folk influences, an indie spirit, and subtle electronic touches with smooth transitions. Yet the essence is less about sound and more about feeling: his songs often touch that fragile point where one is confronted with oneself.
