Selût is an İstanbul-based multidisciplinary artist who works across music and illustration. The music is experimental, combining ambient, acoustic, jazz and world music elements with strong solo vocals, while the visual work is published under the name CTZ (Cosmicnutz). In 2024, performances at the Akbank Jazz Festival and Volkswagen Arena brought the artist to a wider audience. Well-known Selût songs include "Sahiden", "Evdekiler" and "Ben, Keyfim ve Kahyası".
From drawing to music
Selût describes drawing as the most natural form of self-expression and turned to music where drawing was no longer enough. In a 2025 interview, the artist said they had worked professionally in illustration as CTZ for ten years and had been giving concerts for five. Selût names Gorillaz as the biggest childhood inspiration and traces the idea of using holograms on stage to the 2006 Grammy performance by Madonna and Gorillaz, watched at the age of 11. The songs are described as soundtracks to the artist's own drawings.
First recordings and "Sahiden"
Lyricist, producer and visual artist Güneş Akyürek suggested that Selût start recording. "Sahiden", the first song recorded with Akyürek, became the artist's debut release. The following single, "Evdekiler", was released as a standalone version of a section of the song "Ben, Keyfim ve Kahyası".
Akbank Jazz Festival and Volkswagen Arena
Selût's first performance at The Circle was a quadraphonic sound show with Deniz Tekin. On 6 October 2024, at the same venue, the artist performed with Tuğçe Şenoğul as part of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival, on vocals and acoustic guitar. On 1 November 2024, Selût performed before Marina Satti at the Volkswagen Arena opening concert of Bu Festival Bizim, organised by Kreşendo, and used live-tracking technology to appear on stage as a giant three-dimensional character.
Debut album: "Değerlim'in Hikâyesi"
"Değerlim'in Hikâyesi" was released in March 2025 on Tarla Records and is the first full-length release among Selût albums. The album grew out of a series of thirteen illustrations. Songs from this period include "Sahiden", "Ben, Keyfim ve Kahyası", "İstemem", "Evdekiler", "Sen Anlarsın", "Dünün Kokusu" and "Nediney". On the recordings, İpek Ektaş played a solo on "Sen Anlarsın", Danae played drums and Saliha Turan played violin on "Nediney". The album launch concert took place at Salon İKSV on 21 March 2025.
Hologram shows and new stages
Selût concerts are built around a visual staging that uses holograms, projection and live tracking. The artist staged a performance titled HoloGIRL 2.0 at Salon İKSV and, on 14 November 2025, presented HoloGIRL 3.0, with full-body movement captured live, at MIX Festival at Zorlu PSM. In October 2025, Selût appeared on the Sofar London programme in London. As one of the musicians awarded Kreşendo's Converse-supported Music Equality Fund (Müzikte Eşitlik Fonu), Selût was listed among the guests of the talk "Müzikte Eşitlik Buluşması: Hikâyenin Devamı" at Komünite on 9 November 2025, part of Bu Festival Bizim. On 29 January 2026, the artist performed at Babylon's "Babylon Glocals: Tarla Records Selects" night alongside Miskinler and Vicotüco.
