Kardeş Türküler will meet audiences in Turkey and abroad with the songs and voice of Ahmet Kaya, marking his 40th year in music and the 25th anniversary of his passing.
These concerts will bring together Ahmet Kaya’s inclusive artistic stance—embracing all segments of society—with Kardeş Türküler’s philosophy of coexistence through diversity. The program will mainly feature songs that reflect “human stories,” highlighting shared emotions and experiences.
Ahmet Kaya’s courage to transcend cultural boundaries and his unique sound—blending different musical traditions—will meet Kardeş Türküler’s multicultural approach, which gives space to the diverse languages and voices of the region. Special surprises are also planned for these performances.
Kardeş Türküler emphasize the multilayered richness in Ahmet Kaya’s music, noting how his work brings together elements ranging from the fine saz tradition of the Malatya/Elazığ region to Azerbaijani music, Abdal traditions, Kurdish dengbêj culture, as well as arabesque, classical Turkish music, and rock. They aim to reinterpret this richness through both traditional instruments and original arrangements, reinforcing his musical bridge and carrying his songs forward with messages of peace and brotherhood.
