Rashit Greatest Shits on December 10 at Paribu Art
One of Istanbul’s most important names on the punk scene for decades, Rashit returns with a very different concept via the Greatest Shits album released by Ada Müzik—a work that carries the weight of a tribute. 35 musicians and groups have interpreted the songs of the Rashit group, who have left behind 30 years of musical history. Alongside Teoman, Babazula, Direc-t, Dört x Dört, Güneş Özgeç, Can Temiz, Melis Yelman, Elektro Hafız, Second and many other notable names, numerous figures from the local underground music scene have performed Rashit’s songs in their own unique styles. The Greatest Shits album, released as 7 EPs consisting of 5 tracks each, saw its final installment released on digital platforms in October 2025. The Rashit group has influenced many other groups and artists with their albums and political stance in the independent music scene, reaching new generations in the process. Now, they are bringing this "tribute" album to the stage with very special guests. You will see the history of the group through a different lens.

Rashit:
Founded as a punk rock group in 1993, Rashit has been one of the most talked-about teams in Turkey’s underground music scene, both at home and abroad, throughout the 90s. Through numerous demo cassettes released between 1993 and 1999, they spent years within the "Do it Yourself" culture, producing analog work especially during the pre-internet era.
In 1995, Rashit’s Movements from Kadıköy 7" vinyl, released in France by Darbouka Records, was one of the first examples of our country representing alternative music styles abroad at a time when Turkish record companies were not interested in them.
The No Need to Panic album, released in 1999 by Kod Müzik, one of Turkey's first independent labels and taking place outside the Unkapanı music market of the time, went down in history as the first album published in Turkey in the punk rock style to show work beyond demo cassettes.
More than 30 years have passed, and during this time, the Rashit group has emerged from the underground. By performing international concerts and releasing albums with major companies like Ada Müzik, Sony/BMG, and Ossi Müzik, they have managed to become perhaps the only punk rock group to be part of the Istanbul entertainment sector and record industry, growing alongside it.
Rashit has participated in Rock’n’Coke three times to date and has shared the stage with countless concerts and festivals with artists and groups such as Marilyn Manson, the Cure, Korn, Offspring, Pet Shop Boys, Dead Kennedys, the Cardigans, Simple Minds, Suede, Echo and the Bunnymen, Massive Attack, Pulp, David Byrne, Hanin Elias, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Juliette Lewis and the Licks, Gallon Drunk, Teoman, Nilüfer, and more.
