About

The New Face of Modern Anatolian-Pop and Psychedelic Rock: Güneş Kardeş at Paribu Art on December 19.

Performing at Paribu Art on December 19, Güneş Kardeş brings together Turkish Psychedelic Rock and Anatolian-Pop with a modern approach. As the solo project and alter ego of musician, producer, and visual artist Güneş Akyürek, the artist creates a unique atmosphere on stage where nostalgia and today's energy merge. Influenced by his father's record collection and the psychedelic spirit of the 60s, Güneş Kardeş delivers a sound that honors the past while embracing the present.

Writing neo-psychedelic songs with his previous group PONZA and releasing the Free Kids (2015) EP and Another Land (2018) album, Kardeş gained stage experience at numerous festivals. Under the Tarla Records label he founded with a DIY approach in 2018, PONZA released works by artists like Ali Gem, Deli Bakkal, Selût, and Şevket Akıncı, pairing their music with visuals designed by the artist himself. During the pandemic, he turned to recording Turkish songs. Following his first single "Kayboldum," which featured Uygar Çetiner on drums, the follow-up "Zahiri" found its place on radio stations worldwide. His re-interpretation of Taner Öngür's "Çok Geç Olur" for the "Tribute to Moğollar" album also competed in various festivals with its music video.

Sharing the excitement of his new single "Bu Çukurdan" released in 2024 and his upcoming debut album, Güneş Kardeş also handled the arrangement and production of Idil Meşe's song "Neden," releasing a joint work with Meşe under the Ada Müzik label. Continuing to create new compositions that expand the boundaries of Anatolian-Pop, he plays bass and vocals in the new supergroup Miskinler.
