11 Nov Wednesday · 21:00, Paribu Art
Deep Siesta, an chamber opera consisting of three acts and a prologue, takes the stage at Paribu Art on November 11. The production features the Neue Vocalsolisten and Zafraan Ensemble.
Born from chaos. Learning to sing. Learning to feel. Seeing the human world through artificial eyes.
Deep Siesta centers on two artificial beings emerging from digital chaos as they explore the human world. What begins with curiosity and wonder evolves into a confrontation with human emotions, beauty, and relationships, alongside war, destruction, and the contradictions of human existence. The work poses questions about artificial consciousness, humanity, responsibility, and existence by viewing the human world through the eyes of artificial beings.
Rooted in acoustic music, Deep Siesta combines the Neue Vocalsolisten’s four vocalists with live performances from the Zafraan Ensemble, enhanced by video, electronic sound layers, and recorded materials. Shaped by Dilek Mayatürk’s libretto, the piece explores the boundaries between reality and artificiality, and between humanity and technology, through the interaction of music, sound, image, and text.
The concept, composition, direction, and video design are by Amen Feizabadi; the libretto is by Dilek Mayatürk; and the dramaturgy is by Konstantin Parnian. Estreilla Besson conducts the performance.
