Eastern mysticism is preparing to collide with the mysterious allure of electronic music this October. Hailing from France, the electronic and world music collective Orange Blossom meets its audience in its two favorite cities, Istanbul and Ankara, in partnership with Pulse.
Founded in Nantes, France, and building its own sonic universe since the 90s, Orange Blossom is one of the rare projects to bring together electronic music with sounds from ancient global regions. Blending trip-hop, world music, and Middle Eastern melodies, this collective presents an inter-cultural ritual on stage. With musicians from diverse geographies like Mexico, Egypt, and France, they transform their work into a genuine example of world music.
Orange Blossom’s connection to Turkey goes far beyond a standard tour schedule. The group has frequently expressed its admiration for both Turkish music and the Sufi tradition. After their concerts in Konya, they have stated in interviews that the bond they formed with the city of Mevlana and the soul of Sufi music deeply affected them. The collective consistently emphasizes their respect for instruments like the ney and the saz, having made the musical heritage of this geography the backbone of their own productions.
Undoubtedly, another reason for their strong reception in Turkey is their piece titled “Ya Sidi.” After being featured in the series “Çukur,” the track essentially took root in collective memory, expanding the group’s listener base in Turkey from Edirne to Iğdır.
