Storytellers Workshop as part of the 10th Atta Festival - Farnoosh Farnia at Paribu Art on November 21-22
Storytellers is a fun and interactive storytelling workshop for children aged 8 and up. In this workshop, Dutch storyteller Farnoosh Farnia (Mezrab Storytelling School) teaches children the basics of creating and sharing their own stories, incorporating elements from Dutch and Turkish cultures.
During the workshop, children learn to relate themes like “gezelligheid” (a cozy atmosphere), cycling culture, floating houses, multicultural identity, and school life in the Netherlands to elements from their own culture. Through games, imagination exercises, and simple storytelling exercises, they learn to create their own short stories by bringing together a character, a setting, and a surprising moment.
Children work in pairs, draw scenes from their stories, and share their creations in a safe storytelling circle. The workshop combines different perspectives from the Netherlands and Turkey while supporting children's confidence, cultural curiosity, and self-expression skills.
