Zen-G

Born in Istanbul in 1994, Zen-G developed an interest in rap music and breakdancing in the early 2000s. The artist made his first amateur recordings in 2006 and, in 2008, co-founded the group Tahribad-ı İsyan with a high school friend. Their 2013 video work, "Wonderland," created in collaboration with contemporary artist Halil Altındere, caught the attention of the Istanbul Biennial and was included in MoMA's permanent collection in New York. Performing with Tahribad-ı İsyan at various festivals across the UK, France, and Germany, and gracing stages at venues like Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre, VW Arena, and İKSV Salon, Zen-G was nominated for the Altın Kelebek Awards with the single "Leyla" released at the end of 2018. In 2019, the artist participated in the "Susamam" project, which brought together 18 rappers, and began solo work with the song "Abis." Achieving Platinum Record success with his debut solo album "ZENGBEJ," Zen-G has been teaching hip hop classes to children in Sulukule since 2011, continuing this work at private schools and various institutions.
