Svaneborg Kardyb

Svaneborg Kardyb is a Danish duo consisting of pianist Nikolaj Svaneborg and drummer Jonas Kardyb. They won the 2019 Danish Music Awards Jazz awards for New Artist of the Year and Composer of the Year.

Inspired by Danish folk music and the Scandinavian jazz tradition, the duo delivers beautiful melodies, a minimalist feel, catchy rhythms, and organic interaction.

Superkilen, the title of their latest album, is named after a park in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, known for its ethnic diversity. The park, transformed by the Superflex art group in the early 2010s into a public space bringing together immigrants and locals, also summarizes the album's spirit: creating calm and clarity amidst a tense and noisy era. For their new single, Illusions, they collaborate with Caoilfhionn Rose from Gondwana Records.
