The Dogs at Paribu Art on June 2–3
Anestis Azas’s The Dogs, which premiered during Paribu Art’s opening season in September, returns to the stage on June 2–3.
First performed at the 2024 Athens Festival to great acclaim, The Dogs tells an unconventional detective story. Detective dogs from different countries come together on stage to solve a mysterious case. Blending documentary theatre elements, dark comedy, and strong performances, this dynamic production offers audiences both a thought-provoking and gripping experience.
Drawing on documentary theatre methods and combining cinematic and theatrical storytelling, The Dogs creates a striking stage experience that balances humor and tension. Its cast, stage language, and narrative structure make it one of the most distinctive productions in recent years.
The Dogs is a production of the 2024 Athens Epidaurus Festival and was presented under the festival’s “grape – Greek Agora of Performance” platform. Its staging at Paribu Art is supported by the Athens Epidaurus Festival.
