About Su İdil
Su İdil was born in Ankara in 1994. She completed high school at ODTÜ College and graduated from the Department of Psychology at Başkent University in 2016 with a GPA of 4.0. She began exploring jazz in her early middle school years. During that time, she worked with Durul Gence for about a year. In 2010, she won the Poland Pulawy education scholarship at the 6th Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition, where she studied in Sibel Köse's vocal class and worked with notable names such as Dante Luciani, Bogdan Holownia, and Janusz Szprot. In 2012, she reached the finals of the Akbank Jammz Competition. In March 2015, upon her return to the Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition, she was awarded five special honors, including representing Turkey and Nardis at the Latvia Riga Jazz Stage Competition and performing at the Istanbul Jazz Festival, by unanimous vote. In March 2017, she attended Barry Harris's workshop in Rome, Italy. In 2020, Su İdil released her album "Anlat Bana," recorded with esteemed musicians Çağrı Sertel, Onur Aymergen, Ozan Musluoğlu, and Mehmet İkiz. For the past four years, she has worked as a backing vocalist with Kenan Doğulu and continues to perform in jazz, R&B, funk, soul, and pop styles in her own projects alongside many valuable musicians.
